Bottomless Brunch

4 Fulham High St, Fulham, London SW6 3LQ

£

I have only ever been to one Bottomless Brunch, at a very snazzy place called Aster in Victoria. It was delicious but cost well over £50 for two courses and 90 minutes of bottomless bubbly, therefore, I wanted the second time around to be slightly more cost effective. Having recently discovered the value of Time Out’s food deals, I came across 42% off bottomless brunch at The Courtyard, a cocktail bar serving Mexican fare on Fulham High Street.

The deal included a sharing platter of Cheesy Nachos, complete with tomato salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños, as well as a choice of taco and two choices of tapas options. I went for the Ground Beef Taco, followed by the Prawns and Halloumi Fries. All of this together was £20, including the Prosecco, which is incredible value. The nachos were tasty, with ample amounts of cheese and dips (although could have been a slightly bigger portion, given they were for sharing). My taco was decent, although wish I had chosen the chicken (see above) as the ground beef reminded me a little too much of Bolognese. The tapas dishes were fantastic, a decent amount of tasty prawns perfectly cooked and the most AMAZING Halloumi Fries I’ve ever tasted.

We arrived just before 12 and were shown to our table outside, which was pretty small and had some uncomfortable high-top chairs (see right hand side above). We asked if there was any possibility to move to a slightly bigger table but were told that the larger tables were for big group bookings and they were back to back all day (unbelievable in an at first empty garden, but lo and behold, it filled up quick!) Service after that was pretty rushed, to be honest, with the waitress trying to take our nachos away 3 times before we were even finished! Hands off my nachos. They were good at re-filling the prosecco, but we were told twice that our time was up before it actually was, and politely had to correct them that we had loads more time to neck the free booze.

The setting is nice, but I was expecting a slightly bigger outdoor area. The inside of the venue has fun and vibrant décor but is slightly on the shabby side and could do with a re-vamp (and a little more natural light). For the price we paid, however, the quality of the food was up to standard and I feel like we had enough bubbles to get our money’s worth. Would I return for a second time? Probably not, but if you’re looking for a cheap bottomless brunch option with tasty food, this deal is definitely worth a one-off.
