Megan's

All day Brunch & Mediterranean

55-57 The Pavement, Clapham, SW4 0JQ

££

Now with 4 establishments spread across South West London, Megan's has earned a name and reputation for itself. Known for it's romantically photogenic decor and delicious all day Brunch, Megan's was bound to be a hit with snap-happy millennial's and yummy mummy's alike.

The Fulham joint is famous for its year-round garden, whilst Parson's Green serves pizza as well as Mediterranean fare. The Balham joint couldn't be more of a welcome addition for the notorious Brunch scene they have going on down there, and before I knew it a branch had opened in Clapham Old Town, in the same building one of my best friends had her eighteenth birthday party!

That same friend and I decided to check out Megan's one Monday lunchtime, given that it was not only just South of the river, but now practically on our doorsteps. Seated in the cafe area, which was complete with a real olive tree, and seriously rammed for a Monday lunchtime (pushchairs and all). We were offered the brunch menu as well as some Mediterranean options. There was genuinely too many delicious sounding things on the menu that we had to send the waitress away twice because we STILL hadn't chosen. Eventually, I opted for the veggie breakfast, whilst Ciara went for the Salmon & Avo on toast.

My veggie breakfast came with scrambled eggs, halloumi, avo, spinach, mushrooms, shakshouka & toast. The spinach and mushrooms were both cooked with some delicious garlicky seasoning, making them taste a lot naughtier than they were. The smashed avo was good and eggs just 'sloppy' enough for me, but whilst the halloumi slabs were generous, they could have been a little crispier on the outside. Ciara's smashed avo and salmon on toast came with omega seeds and chilli and also looked really good. The service to get the actual food was slightly on the slow side, but they more than made up for this with the quality and taste.

The menu at Megan's is one where you know you will be coming back because you never know if you've made the right choice or not. There is simply too much to try, with the Mediterranean food looking just as good (if not better) than the notorious brunch. There is also a healthy salad section and a well stocked deli for those not feeling either of the previous options. We both got a smoothie to go with our meal, Ciara the mixed berry and the passion fruit for me, which were a little expensive for £4.60 each, given the size, but really tasty all the same.

Service is friendly (the waitress ran after me when she realised I'd left my scarf), and there is so many different areas to choose from, each beautifully designed. Megan's has earned its reputation for a reason: and this Clapham addition will only add to it's notoreity.
