City Centre Zip Line

Until 9 September 2018

Archbishops Park, Carlisle Lane, SE1 7LE

£20.00

Heralded as “the longest and fastest city centre zip line in the world”, Zip Now offers a unique an adventurous experience in the middle of the big smoke.

Before taking flight, you are put into a pretty dashing body harness, and given an equally attractive helmet. After watching a safety video, you are asked to ascend the metal staircase to the platform above. 35m high, you are invited to jump off a platform equivalent to the size of 9 double decker buses. Whilst this sounds insane, the platform isn’t actually THAT high… I’m not the best with heights but the scariest part of the whole process was definitely the climb up.

Once you’re up there, you’re attached to the zipline and told to walk down to the third step… ok, so maybe this was scarier than the climb up. Once you’ve taken off, however, you feel instantly supported – you barely have to hold on to the handles as all your weight goes to your bum. Not too fast, you’re able to enjoy the scenery from an entirely new perspective, however the process does go by incredibly quickly (I’d say around 30 seconds at most).

The experience is an original and fun way to see the city from new heights. It’s a good way to tackle a fear of heights without fainting from fear, whilst also getting a nice little adrenaline rush and decent view of the city. Whilst you can’t see all the major players, big ben and the London eye are in clear vision from the platform. You do, however, take off in the direction away from the big buildings, but when you’re zipping across the park in the sun the last thing you’re going to be thinking about is sightseeing… let’s be honest.

Staff are friendly, vibes are nice, process takes no longer than 45 minutes in total and photos are available for purchase after your flight (although, as you can see from our two in the middle, these are slightly underwhelming).
