Originally launched as a food truck on the Southbank, Pitt Cue then moved to a Soho location, and are now rested in a large joint in East with an expanded kitchen and extended bar. Offering a selection of wood-smoked meats and barbecued goodness, Pitt Cue's menu changes daily, meaning you can keep returning without getting bored.

I went to Pitt Cue with work for lunch one day. There were around 10 of us and to make things easier we chose the daily special feasting options. To start, we had a large selection, including the Cod's Roe, Lamb Heart, Smoked Eel, Ox Tongue, Potato Skins, Calcot Onions with Chopped Egg and the Potato Cake. We also ordered a few of their home baked sourdough and homemade butter - creamy deliciousness. For main we ordered the Pig's Head, Lamb Shoulder, Ribs and Beef.

What I liked about Pitt Cue was it's subtle adventure: the food was different, but didn't make a song and dance about it. The parts which particularly stood out were the Heart, Tongue and Beef. The Heart was incredibly flavour filled and rich, as was the Tongue. Both had a delicious smokey taste which was subtle enough to not overpower the meat itself. The pig's head was probably the most impressive aesthetically speaking, he even still had his teeth intact, poor thing. Poor tasty thing.

There wasn't much meat itself to get off the pork's head, but the bits we did manage to get off were tender and succulent. The crackling was also some of the best I've tasted, even if I did feel slightly uncomfortable ripping these bits of crispy fat directly off his grimacing face... The Beef, on the other hand, came in a very generous portion, every bite was as delicious as the next. Perfectly pink and tender, this had to be the highlight of the meal.

Prices at Pitt Cue are very reasonable, you can get some truly fantastic and interesting dishes for between £6-15 (obviously the feasting dishes are more, but this is based on a price per person basis). Whatsmore, they also brew their own craft beer. A bottle of red ranges from a very modest £22 to a very flashy £350, and this pretty much sums up the restaurant itself: impressive to those who want to impress, but at the same time affordable and modest in its deliciousness.

Come to Pitt Cue for some very tasty meat at very decent prices. You will not be disappointed, that is, unless you are a vegetarian/vegan - in which case, steer well clear. You'll only be able to eat one side off the menu!
